I want to show the field while viewing the record only and hide while editing, creating. Can anyone help ?

what type of value you want to show on your hiding field i mean why you want like this
In my object, I have fields like Approved By and this field should be viewed only. I have achieved this by creating css file. Thanks for your reply.
i think you can also get the result by using state in your python code
