Hello Odoo Community,

I am seeking advice on an efficient way to integrate Attendance and Time Sheets in Odoo. Our company is in the process of setting up Odoo and we plan to utilize both these modules. Here's the workflow we envision:

  1. Employee Clock-In and Clock-Out: Employees start their day by clocking in and end it by clocking out.
  2. Decoding Attendance Time into Time Sheets: The total hours worked (say, 8.23 hours) would then need to be allocated to specific tasks and projects. For example:
    • 2.5 hours on Project A, Task 1
    • 3 hours on Project B, Task 4
    • Remaining 2.73 hours to be allocated to other tasks/projects.

The goal is to make the process of logging attendance and time spent on tasks/projects as seamless and user-friendly as possible for our employees. We are looking for a system that automatically translates clocked hours into time sheet entries, allowing employees to easily assign their time to different projects and tasks.

Questions for the Community:

  1. Is there an existing module or feature in Odoo that facilitates this kind of integration between Attendance and Time Sheets?
  2. What best practices or tips can you share for setting up a system like this?
  3. Are there any pitfalls or challenges we should be aware of when implementing this workflow?
