Afaq Mining

Unlike Egypt’s natural gas sector, the country’s mineral wealth remains largely under-explored and

undeveloped. A relatively new, exciting venture which is generating a lot of interest in Egypt’s gold

mining sector is AFAQ Mining.

The mining and exploration company, established in 2018, holds the rights to explore and develop

an area of approximately 510 square-kilometres in the Eastern Desert in south-eastern Egypt. The

area is part of a well-endowed mineralized belt with numerous sites of historic gold mining dating

back to Pharaonic times.
