Hi,

everywhere I want to access the settings it throws the error : missing record.

For example sales->settings

I have read another post that it is because some apps create products that you are not allowed to delete?

This seems very strange. But I do remember deleting a product that was auto created including something with a barcode. I have seen other user posting the same problem, but they did not receive any decent replies...

Yes, exactly but it is kind of strange that this is coded like that seems bad logic to me.

Also for example if you use the expense apps then it creates a product for expenses. Thos product is mixed together with the actual products, I think is confusing like that... I don't like it.. Because see how easy you can break the whole system by just deleting the simple product. It does not make much sense to me.

How can I recover from this? And recover any product that has been deleted by any app that is required for the admin settings panel to function again?

Hi,

Hope you are using Odoo v11, As all the settings are common in v11.

You are getting such are error because, if suppose you set deposit product as Product A and then later deleting the same product from product master and going to settings will throw error . This might be the issue.


Also make sure that you have not installed any custom addons, also try in a new database and see whether you have this issue or not.
