I have installed Odoo v8 on Ubuntu 14.04 VPS hosted by DigitalOcean. After sometime of usage I get a HTTP error "XmlHttpRequestError" which I always assume its when openerp is down. I have Lamp also installed on the same server which still keeps on working to load the html page. Hence I am pretty sure Odoo shuts down and I have to restart the same. Has anyone faced the same?

It seems I had low RAM selected on VPS, changed it to 1GB and it's running smoothly
Correct. You should always make a VPS on DigitalOcean with atleast 1GB of RAM. If you have 512MB the VM will eventually run out of memory, which causes your Odoo to crash/stop.
