I am using Odoo16 Enterprise edition.

I need the case where I should be able to create the product in draft mode and when the product is published from draft mode, It will be available as it is being available when we create and save the product.

Hi,
If you need to prevent the sales and purchase, when you are creating the product, you can keep "Can be sold" and "can be purchased" as unticked, so that the product wont be available in sales and purchase application.

Thanks

Yes, in many inventory management systems and software, it's common to have the option to create products in a "draft" or "inactive" mode before they are made available for use. This allows you to set up and configure product details, prices, and other attributes before officially adding them to your active inventory. Here's how it typically works:

  1. Create Draft Product: When you're adding a new product to your inventory management system, you might have the option to save it as a "draft" or "inactive" product. This means the product won't be visible to customers or affect stock levels until it's activated.

  2. Configure Details: While the product is in draft mode, you can configure all the necessary details such as product name, description, SKU, pricing, images, categories, and any other relevant attributes.

  3. Review and Edit: Draft mode allows you to review the product details and make any necessary edits before the product goes live. This is especially useful to ensure that all information is accurate and complete.

  4. Activate Product: Once you're satisfied with the product details and settings, you can activate the product. Activating the product will make it visible to customers and update stock levels based on the initial quantity you've set.

  5. Publish Changes: Some inventory systems might also allow you to make changes to existing products while keeping them in draft mode. This way, you can update product information without affecting the live product until you're ready to publish the changes.

The exact process and terminology might vary depending on the inventory management system or software you're using. If you're using a specific system, I recommend consulting its documentation or support resources to understand how to create and manage draft products effectively within that system.
