I have a scale which prints EAN13 encoded barcodes with price and PLU.

I have a product with PLU 00001 in Odoo with a per kg price.

My scale prints the following code:

2100001004101

which corresponds to 0,410 kg.

The barcode is not recognised by the POS, I get a product missing message.

I also tried to enter a 21... code with check digit in the barcode field but it doesn't help.

What am I doing wrong?

Normal (non weight) EAN13 codes work perfectly.

I found the solution by myself.

I had to enter a 21... barcode in the product's data with a weight of 0 and the right checksum, then they started working.

This must be clearly stated in the documentation because I couldn't find it anywhere.

An automated EAN13 generator would be very handy which autofills the field according to the internal reference number.

Hi, could you please elaborate on your solution? I'm running into a similar problem and cannot solve it.

Does your barcode field now read '2100001000004'? Or did you type the dots directly into the barcode field?

Did you encode the PLU in the barcode field or simply write it in the Item Code field?

Best,
