Hello,

today I downloaded and successfully installed the bitnami OpenERP virtual machine in VirtualBox. Seems that all works fine so far. However I have serious trouble to connect the report designer plugin from LibreOffice (3.5) to the database. I use the following data:

box 1: server: 192.168.178.44 (as used for the frontend too) port: 8069 protocoll: XML-RPC (where I added the line conf['xmlrpc'] = True to the file /opt/bitnami/apps/openerp/scripts/openerp.wsgi as written here) Then I click NEXT (and have to wait a long time) box 2: database: bitnami_openerp login: abc (as for the frontend, which is the administrator in fact) password: xyz (as used for the frontend too)

I always get a Connection failed blablabla... WHAT is wrong here? Can anybody provide me some hints - would be really great, thanks.

SOLVED on bitnami forum:

Dear all,

I read many questions and answers about this topic - nothing was of help - till now, thanks.

The port you have to choose is the Apache port: in my case 80 works fine! Then I was able to SELECT a database (not to write the name). As Login and password I hade to use the same as for login into the web frontend (do not try to use name and passwort from any other config file).

So again, thanks a lot. Hopefully other users can use this message and prevent any trouble.
