QWEB will be far easier to understand if you are familiar with HTML.

A generic HTML guide (w3schools.com etc) would help. Tags like <a>, <table>,<td> are all standard HTML.

In addition, if you read up on CSS and Bootstrap, you will be able to effectively use the classess like 'col-xs-4' etc. to format your page.
