Hello Team,

I hope you're doing well. Given that the Epson printer that I use is compatible with Odoo only through an IOT box (Epson TM-T20), I was delivered another one of the ZEBRA ZD420 type. 

On the other hand, I don't know if this model is compatible with Odoo without IOT. All I know is that during installation I don't see in the peripheral settings where I can define the opening of the cash drawer. Also, the printer does not have an RJ11 port to connect the printer to the cash drawer.

Has anyone ever deployed with this printer model? If so, could you guide me?

Also, if you know the state-of-the-art cash printer models that can be connected with odoo without IOT, please let me know.

Hi,


The Zebra ZD420 label printer is compatible with Odoo but requires an IoT box for seamless integration. The IoT box supports USB, network, or Bluetooth connections, enabling automatic printing directly from Odoo using the ZPL protocol. Without an IoT box, printing can still occur, but it is managed through the printer itself, which is not the recommended process. If the printer lacks RJ11/RJ12 port, it cannot connect to a cash drawer.
