I've been a huge fan of Odoo and its versatility but lately I have been questioning more and more the logic that has been injected into the Manufacturing module, especially v15.

For instance, you simply cannot complete Work Orders partially halfway during a MO, something that actually worked more or less in version 13. You can create backorders of a MO only at the first step, but once you get going you can only increase or decrease the total quantity, there's no revisiting a Work Order a second time to complete the partial quantity. I'm sorry, I am sure there's some "logic" behind this but this simply doesn't reflect the realities of any serious production chain and is a huge flaw. Production chains do not always follow a linear logic in quantities and often reaches stages where certain operations are completed in parts before sending forward and a single MO can begin to flow in parallel through various stages.

Another flaw is the field "Consume in Operation" provided in the list of materials. This, I guess, was created to allow the consumption of specific materials during a designated Work Order but doesn't do anything except "reserve" the materials until the whole MO has been completed. This is a faulty logic that doesn't account for dynamic component stock counts that need to be done during a non-stop production cycle and leads to serious count errors and by extension purchasing errors.

Please, please, please ODOO. Ask someone in manufacturing who knows before modifying core behaviour of this module. It might be a system aimed for warehouses, dropshippers or someone assembling tables but for anyone that is administering complex manufacturing this is starting to get harmful.
