More and more invoices are being scanned or processed by AI, so don't focus your time on the layout.
The people who do look at them don't spend more than a few seconds to understand who to pay, how much and when. Remember they are reviewing dozens of Invoices daily.
There is no return on investment on making changes. It won't bring you more Customers, save you time or make you more efficient.
Focus your efforts elsewhere.
Hi,
By adjusting the header spacing, top margin, and bottom margin, you can slightly modify your template. If the issue still persists, you will need to update the invoice template either by using code or through the Studio module. For customization, refer to the following links that explain how to modify the default invoice report template.

I don't think the number of pages is a metric for professionalism of an invoice, the work provided is. But that's probably a different story. What preview are you talking about? The HTML version of a document will always be without any page breaks as the height of the paper format is not taken into consideration upon output.
Also, in case it's not an HTML preview but an actual PDF: putting the docs side by side, is there any diff in spacing visible? If so, that's your issue then.
