Hello everyone,

I am new at OpenERP and I just installed OpenERP 7.0 on Windows7 x64 using the "openerp-allinone-setup-7.0-latest.exe" All-In-One file. But when I tried to open it it gave me this error message:

I think database(postgres) service is stopped u start the server, it wil work. Goto service and select the postgresql, select that and start it.

How has you configured the postgresql service to log on with your account openpgsvc? How have you changed login with any account and to interact with the desktop?

Windows 7 > Control Panel > System & Security > Administrative tools > Services > PostGreSqlForOpenERP > Properties (right-click) > Log on > Log on as local system account (!don't interact with desktop, annoying). Test it with Postgresql app, PgAdmin III. Pronto! Try your browser: localhost:8069. OpenERP client comes up

I also have the same problem in win 8(all in one installer), postgresql service not started(and very poor or non-existing instructions how to start it manually), is there anyone who can tell if this doesn't work with win 8 at all or what actions need to be taken?!? Have installed on 2 win 7 machines, first no problem, second worked after reinstallation, win 8 I've tried to reinstall 3 times turning of firewalls etc. same problem still!!!

No PostGreSqlForOpenERP is present in services.

ON Ubuntu, this error means the user openerp does not have a role/user within openERP. Just add the role openerp to postgresql.

Try installing openerp + postgre folders in a different folder (not in C:\ Program files). For example: C:\OpenERP. It worked for me.

I have the same problem. I went to service and saw that openerp server is already started. I tried starting postgresql and it gives this response: server could not start on local computer. Error 1069: the service did not start due to a local logon failure.

Soy de Peru, me paso lo mismo w7 64bits con el instalador que baje de la pagina oficial, revisando el EventViewer de windows, daba este error: postgres no pudo examinar el archivo de configuraci�n �C:/Program Files (x86)/OpenERP 7.0-20130706-231041/PostgreSQL/data/postgresql.conf�: No such file or directory. Revisando la ruta del archivo no estaba, por eso no podia levantar el servicio. Solucion: desinstale desde el propio windows openerp completo incluyendo postgres, borre la carpeta de instalacion y me baje: http://nightly.openerp.com/7.0/nightly/exe/

The problem is solved. rests with the opengpsvc user account created for me by openerp on my windows machine. the postgresql service was configured to log on with openpgsvc account. i changed to log on with any account and to interact with the desktop

I have the problem with Odoo V8 and OpenERP V7 on Windows 7 64bits. I tried all the tips exposed in this post but these not fix the problem. Any solution?

Does anybody test at OpenERP before putting online a new version? Wher is the documentation for v8?

I had the same problem ({"message": "OpenERP Server Error"............."FATAL: password authentication failed for user \"openpg\"\n)  after default windows intall. In the pgAdmin PostgreSQL tool I added a Login Role with "openpg" and "openpgpwd" as name and password, gave it all authority and the OpenERP website opens as it should. :)

I have Windows 8. I was getting the same internal server error. Uninstalled the program and installed in a seperate folder: C:\OpenERP7

It works fine.

Hi, I recently had the same problem. It may be because you have installed and uninstalled PostgreSQL 9.x or openerp before.

The PostgreSQL 9.x uninstaller does not cleanup the registry keys in the same fashion as the 8.3 did, and the following keys remains after a complete uninstall:

  • HKLM\Software\PostgreSQL

    +- HKLM\Software\PostgreSQL\Installations

    +- HKLM\Software\PostgreSQL\Services

So, in order to solve the problem, we just have to delete this entries manually.Open regedit, find these entries mentioned above ,delete it , and then try reinstalling again.

So u must set the postgres from the begining.
