The Currency on the website can be controlled with the help of pricelists.

The Pricelists can be associated with Country Groups.

For this use case, we will have to first create a country group and add the countries that follow this currency to the group.

Go to Contacts app -> Configurations -> Country Group

For this use case, I want to have Canadian Dollars for Canada and US dollars for Customers from the US.

I will create a country group 1 for each with the respective country.

The countries field is a many 2 many meaning you can add several countries if all of them are using the same currency, like the European Union.

The Next step would be to enable the currencies. This can be done from the Accounting application -> Configuration -> Currencies.

Activate the currencies by switching on the button on the Active field next to the currency.

In this case US Dollars is the Base currency of our company and hence the Unit per USD is set on Euros and Canadian Dollars.

The conversion rates can also be automated from the settings by enabling Automatic Currency rates and setting a service provider to get the values from and the interval to get the value, like, daily, weekly, monthly, etc..,

Once the Country Groups and Currencies are set, the next step is to associate these with Pricelists.

Enable the Pricelists from Website Settings.

Select Website Application -> eCommerce -> Pricelists

Create a Pricelist, add the currency and the country group and the website can be set under the Configurations tab of the Pricelist.

Make sure to do this for every one of the currencies.

Odoo will read the IP address of the public user / Website visitor and automatically locate their country and will set the correct pricelist based on their country,

Note: If the visitor logs in they become a portal user the pricelist set on the contact linked to the user will be used as it will supersede the default pricelist on the website.
