How to migrate from Odoo 8 database to Odoo 9?

Question

I tried to restore the Odoo 8 database to Odoo 9 but it failed due to errors as following:
Database restore error: column "transient" does not exist LINE 1: select model, transient from ir_model where state='manual' ^
Is there a official method to migrate to Odoo 9 from Odoo 8?

Short answer is that it is possible only with signing Enterprise Contract with Odoo now.

The official way to migrate form odoo8 to odoo9, is to contact odoo company, they will charge for this service. Here is  * Link [1] * . [2]
