Thanks but my question is the step after.

The product Down Payment does not exist by default.

So I wish to know how to configure the Down payment product.

Updated the answer, choose product from the list or create one product for this , product should be of service type

Hi,

After installing the sale modules, go to Sales -> Configuration -> Settings ->, there you can see the option to set the down payment product, select it from the drop down and just save it.

You can choose the product from the given list or you can create a new product for this purpose. The product type should be service type.

Thanks

Hi all!

I have been investigating about the behaviour of that product and cannot figure out how to manage it. I have configured the down payment product properly. The cases I have tested are:

CASE 1

  • If I put this product in a SO, the amount is not being deducted from the amount.

CASE 2

  • I create an invoice with that product.

  • Register the payment for that invoice.

  • Create a new SO and create the invoice selecting the option Invoiceable lines (deduct down payments)

  • Nothing happens

So I don't know really what is the propose of that field and how to manage it.

Any ideas?

Thanks a lot!

Pere

The Down Payment product is a service type of virtual product. It doesnt matter what invoicing policy is.

The feature of Invoicing Policy is for stockable products. Odoo could count the number of delivered goods for invoicing.

OK. What about the invoicing policy (on ordered or delivered quantities) ?
