In odoo community edition, when I add a payment provider for the webshop, and I try to pay with the test provider, I get the error:


You can't create a new payment without an outstanding payments/receipts account set either on the company or the Demo payment method in the journal1 journal.


It is unclear to me how I can setup an outstanding/payments receipt account without the accounting module, which is enterprise only.

Aha, thanks a lot Paresh!

I also discovered that when you start with the demo data, it also works, probably the access rights are then correct also.

Hi Remco:

Follow the steps listed below:

1. Activate Developer mode.
2. Go to Settings > Users & Companies > Groups, search for the Show Full Accounting Features group, and add your admin user to that group. This will allow you to access some basic accounting related features that are available in the community edition.
3. Log in as that admin user, go to Invoicing > Configuration >Settings, scroll down to the Default Accounts section for Invoicing and set the Outstanding Receipts Account and Outstanding Payments Account.
