Dear Friends

I am new to the world of odoo, 

I have a situation , one company is in to two activities , how do I set up this , I have to create cost centers as well for both this activity .

Activity-based costing (ABC) is a costing method that identifies activities in an organization and assigns the cost of each activity to all products and services according to the actual consumption by each.  

Many businesses use the cost of goods sold (COGS) to determine how much it costs to create a product. But, COGS focuses on direct costs and does not include indirect expenses like overhead.  

With activity-based costing, you take into consideration both the direct and overhead costs of creating each product. You recognize that different products require different indirect expenses. By assigning both direct and overhead expenses to each product, you can more accurately set prices. And, the activity-based costing process shows you which overhead costs you might be able to cut back on.

For example, you make soap. Soap A requires more overhead, like testing, than Soap B. Using activity-based costing, you assign the right overhead costs to the appropriate products. That way, your overhead is higher for Soap A than B.

What do you mean by Activities ? can you explain more in detail ?

From working with SAP, I fully understand what you are asking. Cost Center accounting is not supported in Odoo as standard. 

On work enter you have only one cost facot by the hour. You might include fix cost in that figure. In SAP this is split on different cost elements. (Electricity, workers etc). 

For projects Odoo give you Analytic account. I think quite ok for projects. But the reports might need some Customizing.

In Odoo if you want to deal with Food & Non Food Item with separate accounting 
you have two option 

number One is Operating Unit

number two is Multi-Company 

you need to follow Odoo Documentation to see which case is fit for your Needs ....

BY activity what i mean is two business lines under one company. In my case my company is in to production of some food items ,and some other items, so we have here two departments called food and non food , My question is how do we account this situation using Odooo

with this can we get a consolidated P&L and Balance sheet at the same along with the separate reports
