@stevejon : not yet, I feel a little bit lost and cannot seem to find my way there. Any hints on how and where to find this ?

Yes, Odoo supports click-to-call, and you can set it up in different ways:

  1. Using VoIP module (standard Odoo Enterprise)

    • Go to Apps → VoIP and install it.

    • Configure your SIP/VoIP provider under Settings → General Settings → VoIP.

    • Once configured, you will see a phone icon next to numbers in Contacts, CRM, and Helpdesk to dial directly.

  2. Using external connectors (may require purchase)

    • If your telephony is not SIP-based, you can install connectors like Phonet (paid) or OCA modules.

    • These add a dial button inside Partner/Contact forms and route the call through your PBX or mobile bridge.

  3. Using tel: links (no purchase)

    • Phone fields can be formatted as clickable tel: links, so when you click the number, Windows/Phone Link or Skype will open to dial.

    • This is the simplest option if you just want to trigger calls via your mobile using Microsoft Phone Link.

So, if you already have Odoo Enterprise, you can use the built-in VoIP module without extra purchase. For advanced PBX/mobile integration, you might need a connector module.

That’s an interesting idea — integrating Odoo with Phone Link could definitely make call management smoother, especially for people who rely on their desktops for most tasks. From what I’ve seen, some users have tried similar setups using third-party connectors or VoIP integrations, though results can vary depending on the configuration. It might also be worth checking if there are Odoo apps or plugins specifically designed for call handling.

Have you looked into whether any Odoo community modules already support this kind of mobile-to-PC call synchronization?

Hi Cybrosys team

thanks for your answer. My idea is not to use a VoIP scheme but to leverage the app available in Windows called Phone Link. Any idea how to trigger a call from Odoo in this app ?

Hi,

Yes — Odoo can be configured to make calls originated from the app (click-to-call) using existing modules or built-in features. Here are practical options:

  • Use Odoo’s built-in VoIP widget (available in “VoIP” module) if your telephony system supports WebSocket / SIP setup.
  • Install the Phonet connector module to integrate with a cloud VoIP PBX, allowing click-to-call from contact records and call tracking.
  • Use OCA’s Asterisk Click2Dial if your phone system runs on Asterisk. It will add a dial button in the partner/contact view so you can initiate calls directly.

If you tell me which phone/VoIP provider you are using, I can suggest the best match.

Hope it helps
