Creating a temporary test system from enterprise db

Question

We are almost ready to go into production with ODOO but have not figured out how to create a test system where we can just restore a copy of the live database and do testing.
Can we just make a db copy(Not move) of the our production db and will that just turn into a 30day trail when we restore it?

We are not looking at creating a new db on the same server because we want to change code and not effect the production db or code.

Solution for Odoo.sh
If you are using odoo.sh as a hosting server, then you can make staging branch, and restore a production copy database over there.
Please note that you also need to push the custom code(if any) to staging branch.(you can do this in trial project also)
Solution for Custom Server
If you have any custom server, make a new environment with production copy database and custom code, run that to different port and path rather than production.
