A Listing can be created from any model. To display records (A record is a collection of data that is organized in a group of fields within a table) from the model (Model is a table with a collection of all records) on a webpage on the website.

To demonstrate this, I will be creating a new Studio App called Horse to display Horses along with some information on the website.

Note: It does not need to be a new application or model, a listing can be enabled from existing models as well.

To create a new Application, I open studio from the App Dashboard.

Select + New App to create a New application

Type in the name of your application and you can either use the logo designer to design a logo or upload one. In this example I have uploaded a Horse image and have name my application Horses.

The next option will be to link your application to a model (Data Table). I have decided to create a New Model. And I am naming my menu Horses.

The default features that will be selected for the model would be Custom sorting, Archiving and Chatter, which are quite useful for organizing the model itself. I will also enable Picture, Monetary value and Tags as these are the options that will allow you to post information on to the website.

All the other options will not post information to the website.

Once the Application is created it will take you to studio where we can add additional fields if needed for the backend.

Feel free to add as many fields as you want by dragging and dropping them into the view. All the new information would not be visible on the website.

Next step would be to Create new records to be displayed in the website. I created 2 Horse Records and have added a Name, Monetary value, tag and image.

To start the listing, Select Studio from the application/model.

Select the Website option from the available menus at the top right of the screen.

Under the listings section, select the New Listing option next to the Website/Websites or all Websites.

A pop up window will open up type in the Name, this will be the Name of the Page, and Menu if a menu is to be created

Once the Listing is enabled, A website description can be found in the existing fields under studio. Drag and drop this field into the view to add a text website description on the Record’s page.

On the website, There will be a page for the Model as a whole with all the records, in this case the 2 horses. By default the page will have in Grid view, however, this can be changed to list view as well.

There will also be a search feature to search for records within this model.

Within each Individual records page, we will be able to see the Name of the record, Monetary Value, Tags, Website Description and the image.

Each Page can further be edited using the website editor and adding other design blocks to the page.

Hello, can we in any way change what field the search feature on website listing use for index?

Same question as Theis.  Is there a way to modify the search field so it searches tags?  Or, is there a way to provide tags on the model website page itself so website visitors can click on tags so they can filter the results in the new model?
