How can I make appear the description of the BoM components on a quotation/invoice? Odoo 17.4

ex: I sell a table made of 1 board and 4 legs. I would like it appears in the quotation:

 TAB01 - Table in wood - pcs 1 - 100,00

made of:

- BOA01 - Table board - 1 -

"Handmade board in dark walnut wood, size cm 100*150, thickness cm 3. Modern, robust, ..."

- LEG01 - Table leg - 4 -

"Handmade table legs in walnut wood, dark color, square format, size cm 3*3, height cm 3. Modern, robust, etc....

Since you are using the manufacturing module, try out the module: MO and BoM variance whose author is intelliVersal integrated solutions. This module generates a variance analysis report showing the quantity and cost differences between BoM and actual MO.

Thanks Chris for the answer. Unfortunately, this is not what we are looking for. Both solutions means we have to act manually on each quotation/order: to adjust the text as you said on the first solution; or to copy/paste a description in the second one.

But thanks for the ideas. We will continue to search an answer.

Hi Thibault,

by default there is no option to add the components from the BoM of a product as a description to the sales or invoice line.

However, since you obviously also maintain the other products in the system, I would suggest that you could fill the sales description of the specific product with the BoM (select product -> ‘Sales’ tab -> Quotation Description) with this content - then the description of the components will always be displayed below the product as text on a sales order or an invoice created from it. Of course, this only works if you only have one BoM, otherwise you would have to adjust the text accordingly each time.

Alternatively, every time this description is required, you could add it to the corresponding sales order in the product lines as a note, whereby these are then displayed somewhat more separately than in the use case above
