I am trying to track the journal/gl for a vendor bill. I want to see the user and the date as well. I KNOW the dollar amount on the bill was changed. I want to see the original transaction, the transaction where the amount was changed, the original payment date, and the transaction where the payment date was changed. I need a "paper trail" or follow the crumbs even on the deleted/changed journal transactions. (I'm used to dealing with General Ledger accounts, not Journals)

Hello!
The best way to get that information is from the Journal items menu, to activate this you have to first activate the developer mode in the Settigns app
After this you should be able to see a new menu in the accounting app called journal items
From the journal items you can apply the filters you need and group by account or by date for example
hope this helps
What about Audit trail ? Accounting/ configuration/ settings/ Audit Trail
it will create a "audit trail report" in the reporting menu

Unfortunately, our version of Odoo doesn't seem to have Audit Trail capabilities. I'm sure I'll find a way eventually. Thanks for your answer.
