Dear Shashini,
If you will install first time ODOO version 8.0 then use below code in terminal and you will get latest version.
git clone https://www.github.com/odoo/odoo.git --branch 8.0
If you have already installed ODOO version 8.0 then follow bellow step.
1. Set the path in the terminal where you have ODOO 8.
2. Use below command for update
git pull origin 8.0
Example(My system):
ankit@ankit:~/workspace/openerp/8.0$ git pull origin 8.0

What exactly are you trying to ask? Odoo 8 has daily updates so every day something has changed / improved. The newest stable Odoo version is V9 but V7 and V8 are still updated when issues / bugs are found.
Check Odoo nightly builds wherein you can the latest updated version
