Hi everyone,

I've created the site and products, setup payment functionality, POS etc. We're very close to launch and I would like to  know how to create an automated email when a new customer has signed up. 

It's probably a very simple thing to do, have looked everywhere for the answer and there isn't anything specific to this. 

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steven,

Thanks for the detailed answer.

After a bit of research and based on your answer, I discovered that there is a User model which, when replacing the Contact model, also gives me Action to do Send Email and access to all the preconfigured email templates, as seen in the img below.

The action creates an email and does not send it automatically but rather places it in a queue with an action to send which obviously sends it when clicked.
Is there a way to send it automatically?

Here you go:

I created a sales team called "Website Leads". When someone fills out my form, they will be added to the CRM model as a lead and assigned to the sales team called "Website Leads". I created an automated action that will send an email template that I already created upon "creation". Screenshots below

If you want to make it so when a customer signs up for an account on your website instead of when they fill out a form, then change the domain on the automated action and assign the res.partner "contact" as the model to match whatever you use to flag new accounts in res.partner.
