I would like to upload history data in the Inventory application for the shipments. However, Odoo automatically takes the date of data entry. Do you know how can I change the effective date so that I can much the exact date of shipment in the past?

You can upload the data and then export it to change the date and upload it again. You can also write your own code in schedule action to change the date after uploading the data. There are many apps in Odoo store for using backdate.
