On our VentorTech Shopify Connector, a part number for non-catalog parts is selected. We use CSTMD. We made this an MTO part, so an RFQ is created when an order is received. We want to be able to trace the product through the PO, Delivery and Shipment process, but it seems the serial number process (which seems to be the tool we should use) doesn't start tracing until receipt. So it's more of a logistics tool for the warehouse, than a customer service tool to see the status of the whole cycle.
Is there a way to assign the Serial number at the point of sale and trace it all the way through the process? Ideally, the receipt would push the product through the PO back to the sales order to let the CSR know the product has been received, etc.
