i have quite a few products(hundreds) with components and BOMS configured in Inventory.
finish product(can be sold) have MTO and manufacture routes enabled.
components ( can be purchased) have MTO and Buy routes enabled.
finish product BOM has component entry and consumed in first process of manufacturing route etc.
Inventory (warehouse) receive in 3 steps and deliver in 3 steps and manufacture in 3 steps.

On Sale order confirmation , Manufacturing Orders getting generated successfully, but components needed for manufacturing are not being auto purchased.

Kind of tough situation to be in, how exactly to debug. below is what i have already tried.
in clean local (dev server installed) everything works with same confirm.
in live server (where i have all products data entered etc) is generating this error.
i have tried to compare each route / rule / setting and everything appears same.
any ideas will help about how to approach this (debugging context)
Also wanted to find out. if i do clean live install (new database). what is best way to export products and reimport all with images etc. (backup plan)

Yes, I forgot to mention that. Part of unit test.
Generate rfq from item purchase tab settings.

Do the components (products) show up in the replenishments menu? Since you mention components have Buy as well as MTO, you could choose the preferred route (buy) and set trigger to automatic and check if the RPFs are being generated.

clicking replenish on component with buy route preferrence generating PO successfully.
Q. how to set trigger to autmatic is where i am feeling slightly confused.
thanks again for guidance

Hi Haseeb,

Replenishment is V14 forward I believe. Inventory> Operations > Replenishment

On this menu you will have the option to define preferred route, trigger, min, max and multiple quantities for a product.

Am not entirely sure on V13 options will need to login to check. But from memory I recollect that the route is chosen sequentially, so if a product has more than 1 route then the 1st route is chosen.

Hope this has at the least provided some pointers to help with your debugging

Also, in V13 you might need to run scheduler to trigger buy route in the event you have set re-ordering rules
