I'm using Azure for my DNS because I already have my email records set up there.

I've configured a CNAME record www.domain.com to point to myodoodomain.odoo.com and it's working.

Now I'd like to configure the naked domain (domain.com) to redirect to www.domain.com.

Azure doesn't have the ability in their DNS service to handle the redirect, and I can't afford to pay $35 US per month at this point to use Azure Front Door.

Does anyone have advice for setting up the redirect, possibly with an Azure Function or Static Web App?

Alternatively, I would consider having odoo host the domain and handle the dns, but I haven't found any details on whether I could configure the dns records I need for email, or how much the dns hosting is per year after the first free year.

Thanks!

Thanks Ernesto!

I took a look at Gandi's services and though it's a bit more expensive than my current DNS registrar, will try switch to Gandi if I can find some instructions for doing so.

That said, I did find a solution to do the redirect for me:
I created a new Azure Web App using this container:
https://hub.docker.com/r/morbz/docker-web-redirect/

All I had to do was set one environment variable and the container is now redirecting domain.com to www.domain.com.

I've got it running on the free tier for now, but need to watch it over time to see if there are noticeable cold-start issues.

Unfortunately this is very specific to replicate  by myself as I do not use Azure. But since the domain Odoo is providing is hosted by Gandi, maybe we can consider their DNS service, which is included in the domain cost.
