Hello,

When creating Tasks in a Project, we see that the Task ID is auto-incremented, which is expected behaviour. I would expect the increment value to be 1, but it appears that the ID for each new task is incremented with the amount of minutes passed since the previous task was created.

DateTime:    Time difference: ID: Increment:

2024-12-12 17:09:04 - 72019 -

2024-12-13 09:55:01 16:46 73025 1006

In the beginning we did not see this behaviour. Does anyone know why this could be happening? As the Task ID field is a type integer, some day we would run out of space.

Thanks so much!

Best,

Marco

Thanks for your response Econ!

I know for sure that I do not manipulate the ID directly.

We do have some customisations in the Task view, but they have nothing to do with the Task ID. Do you have any idea what type of customisation could have impact on the ID, when creating a new Task? Like I said, I am 100% sure that we do not manipulate the ID itself. We only read it, and display it on the Task view, in read-only mode.

We are really desperate to solve this.

Thanks again!

Marco

I was curious about this wonderful behaviour that you described so I went to Odoo runbot and create a new task. Sadly, it auto increment as anyone would expect.

So maybe you have some special code to manipulate the task id, or coincidentally a lot of people are creating or importing lots of tasks.

(Sorry not enough karma for both image or link. But i tested with Odoo runbot latest version)
