We are running Odoo 16E. When creating a Sales Order, the availability graph icon on the sales order line shows green/red when in stock / out of stock. However for product variants, if another variant is in stock but not the selected variant in the sales order - the sales order line graph still shows green. Like it only accounts for the total products in stock for the entire product (ie product.template total stock position). Our variants are different pack sizes so this is not helpful.

Customer services can not quickly check if the ordered stock in in-stock unless they click into the product stock on hand so check the various variant stock levels. They have been assuming green is good to go, but this is not the case as we are getting caught promising stock that isn't there. They have to ignore this indicator and check every time.

Can I please understand the logics for this indicator, and is there a way for this indicator to account for individual variants (ie product.product) instead of the product template (product.template) level stock position.

How do manufacturing orders (draft and/or firm), POs (draft and/or firm), quotes and other stock reservations impact this graph indicator?

Is this logic fixed in later editions (ie V17 or v18)?
