After a few attempts, I've managed to configure correctly the API key for google maps.
Now I have a problem, I've installed the google maps extension but I can't make it work.
When I import the block on the website it works but it shows the wrong location, if I click the map to configure the block the map disappears and it goes back to the top of the page.
I've tried with different browsers but the outcome is always the same.
Edit: The issue was actually with the api key I enabled on google cloud. Per odoo's directsion I enabled the javascript google maps api. I just went into google cloud and enabled all of the google maps related API's and this did the trick.
I am having the same issue, same version. I found a workaround to it showing the wrong location by going into settings-> technical tab (debug mode) -> User interface-> views and updating the google map view (key =website.s_google_map) with the correct latitude and longitude from google maps, however, every time I go to click on the block it disappears and I cannot edit.
Thank you very much, yeah, for now, it seems to work but as you said I can't edit in odoo or it will disappear.

FYI you can hit f12 on your browser and see any errors that pop up in your browser with devtools. This is how I discovered the issue.
I tried also to enable all the api and did not work. the block disappear the moment I try to edit the map properties
Solved the disappearing block issue by adding more APIs in the google cloud platform. Click on "APIs" on the side, then click on some of the "Additional APIs" and click each one and enable all of them. worked for me.
I've tried what you suggested but nothing changed. I've enabled all of the maps API but it still crashes every time. Google Api dashboard is soo confusing, I don't understand how it works.
