Hi,

I have an issue. I currently have Odoo installed on my Ubuntu VM but I would like to migrate this existing instance to docker container with all user data preserved.
Is there some way, how to migrate whole instance or export data from VM and import it to new instance in container?
If there is anyone here who has experience with this or knows how to do it I would appreciate any advice.

Regards,
AW

Hello,

I assume what you mean by "migrate" is by migrating the machine and not the Odoo version, no?

The best way might be just simply install the Odoo in docker (lets say you are using Odoo version 15). After that, from your ubuntu vm you can access www.yourodoolink.com/web/database/manager and download your database in zip format from there.

After that, access your www.yourcontainer.com/web/database/manager and restore your database from there. This way it will preserve all user data in the new container.

Best regards,
