I have tested the gift card feature of Odoo v15.
scenario as follows:
Company currency in EUR
POS currency in USD
I sell 100 USD of gift card.
Gift card that is generated is in company currency EUR 87.39
When I use the gift card to pay something. It gives me only 87.39 USD
Only the amount sold is being recorded. Odoo does not remember at which currency the gift card was sold.
You should report this as a bug on https://github.com/odoo/odoo/issues it looks like a not implemented feature problem.
I asked Odoo through helpdesk ticket. They said that Odoo does not yet support multi-currency in POS (eventhough version 14 clearly has a feature called multi-currency in configurations >> settings).
They said that they will look into it maybe for future versions.
It is far more better to report a bug, because you get visibility and help. Readers can "vote" for the bug or left a comment, someone can bring a solution (like an already existing module that solve your problem), someone can develop a module.
