Hello Odooers

Newbie here trying to figure out how to get Gantt showing tasks.

Scenario, we spin up Custom Cloud Based PBXs for new clients. This is like a 10 step process

So i wanted to create a project for each sale, and to keep track of the progress of each sale and under it each process.

I have sale, created the project for ACME LLC, then under that project i have 4 tasks created that will be advancing in columns/stages.

I can see the main project if i switch from kanban to Gantt, but if i open ACME LLC project and switch to Gantt view i get nothing.

I’m confused

All tips pointers and suggestions are welcomed.

See screencast here.

To view a task in Gantt view you would need to set the planned start and end date for the task.

One of the way is to set this is from the Gantt view (empty), click on the datetime and select the task. Once selected the planned date field is visible on the task. Or the time can be changed by drag and drop in Gantt view

You rock Jaideep, this was not intuitive and you explained it spot on, thanks!

One more question if i may.

Is there a way to make a "project template"? This setups always have the same 10 steps , how would you suggest i could speed up creating a new one with the same steps, just different client and dates?

Yes, absolutely possible. If you manually want to create then simply duplicate a project from Project > Configuration > Projects select the template project and action duplicate.

If you wish a sale order to automatically create a project then on the product template select project and the template.

If you don't wish the template to be visible to users in projects app, you can archive it.
