I'm encountering an issue in Odoo 17 related to the handling of cart items and Request for Quotation (RFQ). Currently, when I add products to the cart, they are automatically treated as RFQs. However, I would like the system to only generate an RFQ when I proceed to place the order, rather than immediately upon adding items to the cart.

I've reviewed the settings and configurations but haven't found a solution yet. Could anyone please guide me on how to adjust this behavior in Odoo 17? I want the cart items to remain in the cart until I explicitly decide to place an order, at which point they should be converted into an RFQ.

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!

By RFQ are you referring to quotations (unconfirmed sales orders)?

Hi @aishwar pathak

I am on the same boat now. It seems you have posted the question three months ago. Any insights or solutions you have found for these?
I appreciate your small inputs also
thanks

Don't believe I have understood the question.

You comment seems to imply that your customer calls a document RFQ, which you internally refer to as quotation

The standard behaviour is to create quotations when items are added to cart. (customer showing their interest in your products). It is possible to modify the quotation from the back-end (price or qty or product) and the update would be visible to customer in their cart. The customer can proceed to pay.

Web orders where payment is pending are in 'quotation sent' state while paid orders are in 'Sales Order' stage.
