When making a new quotation how can we stop the customer details from being added to the existing customer database..\it needs to be added to the customer database only if the quotation is converted to an order.

"Quotations" is not a question.

We get almost 1,000 posts a month and not everyone will open a post to find out what your question is.

I have edited your post to make the title a question.

In the future, please consider using a Question that makes it clear what you ask without requiring people to open your post, as this will often increase the chances
people will respond and make everything clearer for others looking for the same answer.

Hi,
By default there is no such option, untill you customize and make it possible and for this different approaches can be adopted, if you have tech team to do it.

With minimal customization, you can try as follows, if quotation is not getting confirmed, after a period of time, cancel the quotation and archive the created customer.
