Hello,

I'm new here and I'm currently setting up my Odoo account.

I'm a freelancer with 2 different activities under a single VAT number. 

I know it's a bit unusual, but it seems that the multi-company feature of Odoo answers my needs. 

My activities (aka "companies") share the same data in apps (contacts, etc.), and my documents have different template, logo and colors for each activity.

Is this the right path? Or should I use branches instead?

What would be the pros/cons of each solution?

Any advice will help :-)

A branch is really a company in Odoo, but it's a "child" of the parent company and shares the same chart of accounts.

As you say, you can share contacts and products / services across companies and branches and have different document formats.

Just be aware that if you have multiple branches or companies you have to use the "Custom" version rather than "Standard".
