The challenge
Rustibus needed to customize its production and reporting to fit its specific workflow. Their office staff manually creates manufacturing orders at the end of each week or month and did not want them automatically generated from sales orders. The company also needed the flexibility to change specific products within a bill of materials for a manufacturing order. They also required specific information, like extra notes and a salesperson's signature, to be added to their customer-facing documents, such as commercial invoices and delivery slips.

Dear digital configured a custom solution that prevents manufacturing orders from being automatically created upon sales order confirmation. This allows the office team to maintain their manual workflow. A key feature implemented was the addition of a 'Add recursive components on order?' setting to BoMs, which gives them the flexibility to either add the finished component itself or its lower-level components to a higher-level manufacturing order, avoiding the need to create multiple MOs for one finished product. This allows them to manage their production efficiently. The solution enhanced their reports by adding extra delivery details and a salesperson’s signature, ensuring all essential information is clearly captured.
The results
The solutions streamlined Rustibus's manufacturing process and customized their reports to meet specific business needs. The new manufacturing configuration eliminated the need for multiple manufacturing orders for a single finished product, which was a significant pain point.
