When I close sessions I see the button that reads "put in money" but when I try it gives me an error about lacking cash registers, but I cant find where to add cash registers on this system.

Go to [Point of Sale]->[Configuration]->[Point of Sale] and chose the one you want to use.
Then find under "Available Payment Methods" the "Cache Journal" and click on it.
On the new window go to "Cash Registers" and activate "Cash Control" under Miscellaneous.
Thats is. Now you must give you POS a starting balance when opening a session, before you can use it
