Does anyone have a solution to not store or remove duplicated images from chatter. We get a lot of email footer images and although small, they build up quickly in the chatter file attachments. Does anyone have a suggestion for keeping this under control?

Same issue here. Any ideas ?
We had a customisation written in the end. What it does is recognises picture files (jpg, gif, png etc.) that are below a definable size (I think we set it to 75kB) and it just leaves these with the message in the chatter and excludes them from showing in file attachments. How it does this, I don't know - our implementation partner wrote it. I'm surprised there isn't an app written to do what seems like a relatively simple thing.
That is a smart approach. I will look at implementing this too.
