Hi all.

I created several recruitment stages. Each stage uses a different email template. All templates have 2 languages, Norwegian and English. the web site is also in the same 2 languages.

When somebody is applying for a job through the Norwegian web site, the application lands in the initial Qualification. The applicant receives a norwegian email from OdooBot, which is correct.

When I drag the application over to stage 2, Odoo is sending the predefined email for that stage in English. This is wrong.

If I now drag the application back to stage one, the corresponding email is send, but this time in English. Wrong again.

When I click "Send message" from the top menu and compose an email from choosing a template, I see the list with templates. When I as admin have my personal language set to GB, the list of templates presented is with the (GB) translated names. With my personal language set to Norwegian, I see the template list with the norwegian names. The content that is send however is regardless of the choices made, always in English.

What am I missing here?

What is the ruling factor here what decides what language to use?

  1. The web site language?
  2. The admin/recruiter language settings?
  3. Other?

A solution I found was to change "{{ object.partner_id.lang }}" in the template settings to "{{ object.user_id.lang }}".

But why does Odoo uses "parter" by default, why not "user". What is the difference?
