Hi Johan,
In the Odoo standard it is not possible to make adjustments to the design of the receipt without touching the source code. With regard to your question, it may well be that the module from V17 already runs on V18 without any customisation on the part of the third party company.
I would still recommend that you contact the company first - sometimes they migrate the modules anyway and can speed up the migration process for the specific module by prioritising it. That way you are on the safe side!
