In Odoo, parent locations never store quantities themselves; only child/internal locations hold stock. That’s why internal moves update child locations but not the parent.

If you want the parent to show the sum automatically:

1. Enable “Show detailed operations” in inventory reporting:
   
   
2. • Go to Inventory → Configuration → Settings → Show detailed operations.
     
     
   • Then check Inventory → Reporting → Inventory Valuation or Stock Analysis; parent locations will display aggregated quantities of all children.
     
     
3. Use the “Virtual Stock” feature:
   
   
4. • Some modules (or Odoo Studio customization) allow you to create a computed field on the parent location that sums child quantities.
     
     
5. Alternative: Use Stock Analysis / Pivot view
   
   
6. • Group by Parent Location, and Odoo will sum up all child locations automatically for your reporting needs.
