Does Odoo already have a field that holds the amount that can be produced? In BoM Overview, I can see it shows free to use/ on hand, forecasted, and such, so I have the information to be able to do the math myself and create a new field for it. But before I get into doing that, I would like to know if odoo is already providing that information somewhere. Thanks in advance!

Hi Alec,

Hope you are well.

If i understand your question correctly, you would like to see the actual Quantity being produced from a particular Manufacturing Order's Overview form, where it will provide the actual production cost per component, operation and labor?

In Odoo 18, the Overview form display the Qantity field as To Produced Qty based on the BOM setup.

However, once the Manufacturing Order is being Completed (Produce All), the Quantity field will reflect the actual Produced qty, instead of the To Produced Quantity.

My apologies, I don't think my question was clear enough. So, what I'm looking for is a way to see, per raw material, the amount that can be produced.
For example, raw_mat_1 is used in a bom, and per 1 finished product, it uses 2 raw_mat_1's. The on hand qty of raw_mat_1 is 37, so how many of this finished product could be built based on raw_mat_1.
Simple math, really, but I just wanted to make sure there wasn't already something in odoo that provided this information before implementing it myself.

Hi Alec - no need to apologize, I think your question was clear. Unfortunately I don't think that Odoo has this "Available to Promise" feature. You might take a look at what the OCA has available: https://odoo-community.org/shop/sale-stock-available-info-popup-5339

Hi Alec,
Thank you for the clarification and for directing me back to your original question.

I completely agree with your assessment — currently, as per my experience there isn’t any standard field available in the Manufacturing application that provides this information directly. The most practical approach would indeed be to add a custom field that performs the computation, as you have in mind.
