We need the ability to block specific lots of products in our warehouse.
We are facing a scenario where we identify a quality issue with a specific batch of goods. We need the ability to block specific lots or serial numbers in our warehouse so they are not reserved for Delivery Orders or Manufacturing Orders.
Product quantities should decrease by the amount we block.
Specifically, we need to achieve the following in Odoo Inventory:
- Segregate the stock: Move the affected lots to a Quarantine Location or a "Hold" area
- Update Availability: Ensure the available inventory decreases in the main stock location so the sales team cannot promise these goods to customers or the operations team cannot use these goods for manufacturing
- Traceability: Maintain a record of why this lot was blocked (e.g., damage, quality control failure).
What is the best workflow to handle this? Should we use Scrap Orders, Internal Transfers to a non-viewable location, or is there a specific Quality Control setting for this?
