Change On Hand Qty change to Available Qty

Question

Hi Odoo Community,
By default, the Odoo Inventory App shows on the product template form the On Hand Qty of stock, but ideally we really want on this screen the Available Qty (i.e, all stock that is unreserved) as it gives us a more truthful indication on how much free stock we have for customers.

Currently the On Hand Qty counts stock that is reserved. Any easy way to change this?

Hi,
You can override the function _compute_quantities, and the free_qty
field represents the computed field that is computed as Quantity On Hand
- reserved quantity, If you need this formula you can update the
onhand_qty value into the free qty
