Hi,

we recently acquired a POSBox and all the recommended peripherals for use with our "on-premises" OpenERP 7 which is on the nightly update schedule and is thus completely up to date. POSBox is meant to work with our OpenERP instance and the nightly build is even referenced in one of the earlier POSBox manuals.

Ergo, there are no fundamental compatibility issues.

However, our OpenERP 7 cannot see the POSBox. I can ssh to the POSBox and it talks to the attached printer printing out the status and the assigned IP address, and it supplies power to the bar code scanner. Our OpenERP 7 cannot see the POSBox and in fact I am not even sure if it is looking for it.

In the OpenERP 7 POS session configuration I selected "Cash Drawer Interface" and "Print via Proxy" as indicated in the instruction manual. Upon starting a POS session I do not see "Connecting to the POSBox" as in that one video demonstrating its use on YouTube. Once the POS session is running there is no activity from the printer, cash drawer does not open and bar code scanner elicits no response from the POS session.

OpenERP 7 never asks me for POSBox IP address.

So.

How do I really connect the POSBox to our OpenERP 7?

Thanks,

Victor

It turns our that OpenERP 7 is not compatible with POSBox. Thus I now have to upgrade our OpenERP to Odoo, and find out the best way to do this.
