Hello!

I'm looking at using Odoo as a replacement for our ERP and CRM systems and I'm wondering if Odoo has an equivalent to multi-level concept of Territory.

In my current CRM (Zoho), Territory is a multi-level freeform classification system. It's not strictly geographical so it can be defined with whatever terms are appropriate for the business.

I see there are Sales Teams but these are not nestable.

  • Is Sales Team the Odoo version of Territory?
    • If so, should I plan to modify Sales Team so that they can be nested?
    • If not, should I plan to make my own module to accomplish Territory?

Hi Chris,

In Odo, Sales Teams allow you to classify your Leads and Opportunity.
It can be based on geography, industries, product line,...

You can set up domains on your Sales Teams to automatically assign your Lead to the right Sales Team.
For instance, all the Leads with a tag "B2B", and that are located in one of your key countries could be sent to a Sales Team called "Key B2B"

By default, Sales Teams are not muli-level, but it's something that can be customized if needed.

So yes, Sales Team is the Odoo version of Territory.

Hi Bastien,

Thanks for your comment.

I like how the system of Warehouse and Locations work whey they appear as "Object / Sub-object / Sub-object".

Can Sales Teams be customized to work in the same way?
