Work with Accounting Module in Odoo Community for developer

Question

I need to add a field to this module, but when trying to install it from the applications it asks for the upgrade. Is there a way to work with that module? I am fairly new to odoo and have only made small changes so far.

Hi Rafael,
Unfortunately the Accounting module is for Odoo Enterprise installations. If you take a look at https://apps.odoo.com [1]  you will find some alternatives that are popular, and free (or paid alternatives). Alternatively, you can go to https://github.com/oca [2]  to find a repository of other community modules that can be installed although I wouldn't use OCA via GitHub if you're not familiar with the process.
